[AlaskaRC] Groeschel Field Improvements

All,

Elmendorf and Fort Richardson are scheduled to integrate. but not in all
ways, only certain services and positions. In essence the two bases are
trying to find ways to reduce or eliminate duplicates.

A few examples:

The child development centers will fall under one management concept, but
the centers will remain essentially unchanged.

The wildlife management contracts are also destined to merge.

I'm sure there are quite a number of other conversions on the horizon.

Some services have already done some of the conversion, I believe the gate
security has been successfully integrated and is under the same contract.

Most of the changes are going to be fairly transparent to the users.

A large group of managers have been assigned to a Joint Basing committee to
discuss exactly these issues.

I don't even pretend to know about the agreement between this club and the
base, it would be worth the phone call for one of the club officers to talk
to the military contact and determine if any changes are anticipated during
the merge.

Rob

To the President and Treasurer and interested parties:

I note that the two aforementioned officers are quick to point out that no
club funds have been expended so far on the latest acquisition of what is
apparently now called Groeschel Field. Never the less, by your actions it
appears that you assume that the silly democratic practice of discussion and
voting will be nothing but a minor speed bump in your plans. All the
announced plans for work parties and moving benches on the pretext of "it
must be done anyway and right away" assumes a great deal in my humble
opinion.

Oh. Never mind. I forgot somebody anonymously actually already paid the
man for the first month and somebody else paid for insurance and oh yes we
have free grass seed and, and, . . . . . .

Oh. We're good to go. The Top Dogs have got it all figured out. No
discussion or vote required.

Press on, press on. Run right over any one in the club that might not think
leasing another field next door to Wayne's World is not necessarily a good
idea. Who needs their two cents worth in any event?

Go. Go. Go. I say!

I've got it on the family calendar and will probably have the van and
both girls in tow. I could put some benches and whatnot in the van if
we need to. The girls are enthusiastic helpers - maybe not fast, but
enthusiastic!

Is there anything I can bring out to help (besides tools)? Survey
paint? Grass seed? (at my own expense for those wondering)
