Subject: [AlaskaRC] Helping out Begich Build-A-Plane next week
Hi all,
The kids participating in the Begich Middle School Build a Plane project
will be building wing ribs Mon-Thurs next week from 9 AM to noon over at
the school. Dan Carey is coordinating volunteers and I'm bringing over
an R/C sim and will be flying foamies and maybe a Pico Stick on a buddy
box with the kids.
If you are interested in helping out, Mitch Mitchell from the Alaska
Aviation Museum could probably use a few assistants with the rib
building. From what Dan says they are expecting 10 - 12 kids, and these
ribs are being built primarily to give the kids a flavor of what it's
like to build a homebuilt aircraft. The ribs are not intended to be
airworthy - so nobody's life will depend on your craftsmanship, but I'm
sure the kids will appreciate it.
Just show up if you can, if you would like more information contact Dan
Cary <Carey_Dan at asdk12.org>.
