We mostly knew Joe as a model airplane buddy in the
ARCS. We have many fond memories of the
ARCS and Joe and Monica are in most of them.
He was a great builder, a fierce competitor (winner of the ARCS Novice
of the Year), and an able administrator (held various offices in the ARCS
including President). Joe was always in
the thick of things and always a blast to be around.

 In my mind, his most
lasting achievement in the ARCS was the time he edited the club newsletter (the
ARCS Exhaust). He turned it into (in my
opinion), a world class publication; you would have sworn Joe was a
professional in the publishing business.
His photo captions were pure comic genius. I occasionally will run across one of his
newsletters and read it, I laugh out loud…… all over again.

Our condolences to Monica and Joe’s family. Thanks for the memories friend…….

Dear Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my beloved husband, Joe, in the early hours of yesterday morning. Thankfully, our youngest son had not yet returned to Florida and was still with me. We are so grateful that, miraculously, Joe was never in any pain and passed away peacefully in his sleep. He brought such great joy, adventure and love to his family throughout his 80 years and was a stellar example to our three sons as to the true meaning of being a father. If there ever was an officer and a gentleman, it was Joe. We are still in the discussion phase as to how we wish to honor him in memoriam. I personally wish to thank each and every one of you who have offered such wonderful support during Joe's journey with his bladder cancer. As a fighter pilot who was always in charge of everything, he was an amazingly compliant patient to this nurse who for once gave the orders during this, his final flight. Monica, his right seat partner
