The Water-N-Wheels was really great this year. It
was the best it's been in years. I don't know the numbers, but there were alot
of people this year. There were a bunch of rc boats racing and just screwin
around, float planes (like a giant scale Cub), all kinds of flying "games", free
flying of course (no restrictions other than AMA), really really good BBQ's for
3 days in a row (and free), lots of people camped there for nearly the whole
week prior, a bunch of prizes raffled off to everyone present, an auction
with all kinds of rc stuff (some that is really hard to find now),
excellent weather, and just a ton of fun. Tom Risdal and Mike Davis (along with
all the people in Fairbanks) have done a great job bringing back this event to
the level it was when Ruben Cayton was the CD. I know there's alot of
pictures and videos of the entire week because I saw alot of cameras out the
whole time I was there. I'm not sure why nothing has been submitted, posted or
updated on our fantastic new website, but hopefully there will, in the near
future be some pics and video submitted and then posted in the gallery
section. Here's a link to a YouTube video of some W-n-W knife-edge games ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4pHUONVkQs&NR=1 ).
Let me know if the link doesn't work and if there are more videos out there.

The Kenai trip should be alot of fun too. Sorry to
hear you can't make it. It's the first time the PMA guys have had a
summer event out there in a long time, so I hope we can show some support
to another local rc club by comming out and having some fun flying, and hangin
out with the Peninsula guys. I plan to leave Friday, somewhere between 12 and
5pm and camp there until Sunday afternoon.

rumors about some ugly outcomes to some airframes. Anyone want to
elaborate? Any one get some pictures from Fairbanks? I was looking
at going down to Kenai, but now have to work that weekend.
