fields) I thought I’d start sending out (every now and then) a few
excerpts from the AMA documents on how some of the IMAC maneuvers should be
judged.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>This comes from a section titled <b>“Basic Components
of Aerobatics”:</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>If within a figure two or more lines must be of the same
length, an observed variation is penalized by reducing the grade in the
following manner (for example, if there is a roll on a vertical down line):<o:p></o:p></p>

be equal. As such, the altitude of the horizontal lines at the start and
finish of the hammerhead may be different.<o:p></o:p></p>

</span></span><![endif]>Any pendulum movement observed after the pivot is
subject to downgrade using the 0.5 points per 5 degrees rule.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>This will not only help you at judging, but it actually will
help you get better at flying the maneuvers (even if you are not ever planning
on actually entering an IMAC contest). In other words, this is for
everybody that likes to fly RC planes and have something fun to do between the
takeoffs and the landings!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>If nothing else, at least it gives you more footing when you
want to argue a point at the field.<o:p></o:p></p>
