Morgan was 2 years ago. I'm going to call him for sure. I remember well the trip we took to the Joe Nall flyin to Greenville, NC. George, Dave Domas, You and Me. And the flyins on floats at my cabin. Lots of the ARCS being there. Stephens and his Huge Antic
on funny looking floats...LOL. and your Super Marine. I miss the RC flying but have moved on. Still enjoy seeing what's going on. I had lots of lessons and encouragement from Reeves.(great guy!!). The only lessons from Morgan was golf 2 times a week. I 'm
glad I never took them from Morgan or Mike? (Bells). I don't think they ever had a plane go home in one piece! haha. </span></div>

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS<br>
T?was the night before Christmas all over the place,<br>
When we were confronted by the old flying ace.<br>
There was icing reported and turbulent air,<br>
He said, "File me a flight plan, I gotta get there".<br>
Outside sat his aircraft already at the gate,<br>
And the old man walked out to his T-28.<br>
"Bad weather's no problem," he silently mumbled,<br>
The prop came to life, and that big Wright rumbled.<br>
He eased in the throttle, the roar shook the ground,<br>
He taxied on out and turned it around.<br>
He went through the run-up and seemed satisfied,<br>
Then he said to himself, "Tonight I'm in for a ride."<br>
So he lined it up straight as he poured on the coal,<br>
The airspeed came up as he started to roll.<br>
Up off the runway, he sucked up the gear,<br>
And that mighty 1820 was all you could hear.<br>
He screamed overhead with a deafening cracks,<br>
Blue flames flying from each of six stacks.<br>
"He pulled up the nose and started to climb,<br>
No ice on that airframe, it didn't have time.<br>
On top of the weather with the levers all set,<br>
He looked up above him and saw a Bizjet.<br>
"With jet fuel and turbines there just ain't no class,<br>
Give me pistons, and props and lots of avgas!"<br>
Now he was approaching where he wanted to go.<br>
But the weather had covered the runway with ice and snow.<br>
How will he land it? We just have to guess, <br>
Because the only way in was a full I-L-S.<br>
Then over the outer marker, he started his run,<br>
The ceiling was zero, visibility...none.<br>
Still going two hundred and he felt the need,<br>
For an overhead break to drop his speed.<br>
Over the numbers he zoomed, along like a flash,<br>
Pulled into his break, we all knew he would crash.<br>
Oh, why do they do it on this kind of night??<br>
Then over the threshold, we saw his landing light.<br>
?I'm on a short final with all three down,?<br>
Hope there is enough runway, the T28 doesn?t do well on a go-round.<br>
Then he tied down that Trojan, and they all heard him say, <br>
"Next year, I'm stickin' with my reindeer and sleigh?". <br>

Here it is 0600 hrs on Christmas morning and I got up to write a note because I had a conversation with one of the original Life Members
<br>
of ARCS who is now 95, that being George Morgan. Last night I called and spoke to George for almost an hour and he is a man that has been through<br>
much and still has a very positive outlook. George lost his wife several years ago and his children prior to that and now lives alone there<br>
in Anchorage. George can no longer drive so you probably have not seen him at the ARCS meetings in several years and for sure not around the
<br>
flying fields. Everyone used to think George was a crusty old WWII veteran but he has a heart as big as all out doors and was always willing to help. I was thinking that it would be so nice if the members, even the new ones that might not know George, would
call him and let him know we still think of him. <br>
<br>
There is a second person that is not as active in the club any longer but is still a great builder and flyer and that would be Reeves Lippincott. I know<br>
Reeves health is not what he would like and he is not very mobile any more. However Reeves is one of the reasons the ARCS club has become<br>
what it is. Reeves is a wealth of knowledge and experience that the club should draw on as much a possible.<br>
<br>
Those of you that have been in the club for several years know how much both of these people have contributed to making ARCS the outstanding<br>
club it has been for the last 30+ years. We all come and go through the world of radio control and a few actually leave a mark that will be
<br>
remembered and that is what these two have done. Don?t let time pass without talking to them, you really don?t want to look back someday<br>
and say ?I wish I had called?.<br>

George and Reeves I know you two have many years to go yet but I want you to know that I Love You guys and I do care.<br>
